South Korea Economy & Government Reporter - Seoul
Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. That keeps us constantly inventing and re-inventing what we do. We are looking for a seasoned reporter to join our economy and government news team in Seoul, placing you at the heart of one of Asia’s most dynamic and compelling stories. You’ll cover South Korea’s economy, central bank and government policy decisions as the nation navigates domestic political turbulence and the global landscape shifts that will take place with the arrival of a new Trump administration. You will also connect the dots between global policies and their impact on South Korea’s trade-dependent economy, analyzing how the government and central bank respond to these developments. You’ll explain how Seoul navigates the delicate balance of aligning with US measures to secure supply chains and limit Beijing’s access to advanced chip technology, while still maintaining trade and business ties with China, one of its biggest export markets. Beyond economics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our coverage of South Korean politics, particularly in the wake of President Yoon Suk Yeol’s martial law declaration and the constitutional crisis it has triggered. You are a great collaborator who works well with reporters, editors and managers in other countries and time zones.
