SOX Manager Job ID 203219 Posted 03-Feb-2025 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Accounting/Finance Location(s) Austin - Texas - United States of America, Dallas - Texas - United States of America, Houston - Texas - United States of America **About the Role:** As a CBRE SOX Manager, you will act as a dedicated business partner who assists the business with understanding and compliance of the SOX requirements. You will gain an understanding of the business- and business-related systems and processes and use its SOX technical knowledge to assist business with SOX compliance at the transactional and entity level. The initial focus will be on revenue related controls. This role sits within the US BOE and supports the legacy Global Workplace Solutions (“GWS”) subsegments of CBRE looking after SOX compliance of the US entities. The role will be reporting into corporate controllership function. **What You’ll Do:** + Exchange and explain difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle sensitive issues. + Understand the nature of any control fails and work alongside the sub-segment to remediate identified deficiencies. + Liaise with the SOX team to get their buy in on changes to the control design or control execution. + Identify areas for enhancement – ensuring continual improvement in control / process efficiency and effectiveness. + Deliver training to the sub-segment on newly implemented or changed controls and processes. + Collaborate with individual business finance teams in finding pragmatic solutions to achieve SOX compliance. + Work as a business partner with the sub-segment leadership keeping them informed on status and issues concerning business finance controls. + Act as the key point of contact for all aspects of SOX for business finance. + Be heavily involved in the day-to-day management of SOX controls. This is a close working relationship between Controllership, Business Finance, the Central Review Team. + Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. + Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred. + Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. + Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. + Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset. + Intermediate math skills.
