Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemical Compounding Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate chemical compounding equipment, follow specific batch sheets, and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities. This role requires safe handling and proper disposal of regulated waste, accurate measurements of raw materials, and performing quality control checks on finished and in-process materials.
ResponsibilitiesOperate chemical compounding equipment to create the correct chemical reactions.Follow specific batch sheets and document all corresponding information throughout daily activities.Use specific measuring equipment to weigh out raw materials to the correct proportions.Safely handle and properly dispose of regulated waste, wastewater, hazardous materials, etc.Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to ensure correct amounts are used and correct percentages of finished materials.Perform QC checks on finished materials, in-process materials, and raw materials as needed.Essential SkillsExperience with batching, blending, and compounding.Ability to follow batch sheets, formulas, or instruction/ingredient lists.Capable of operating production equipment that requires more than just pushing a button.Understanding and following strict SOPs, temperatures, and processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with blending, batching, compounding, and using batch sheets.Knowledge of raw materials, ingredients, sanitation, and CIP processes.Ability to work with and operate production equipment.Experience in chemical manufacturing or a related field is preferred.Work Environment
The work environment is clean, though some areas and chemicals can be dirty or hot. Operators will work in hooded areas to handle certain chemicals that can be hazardous if breathed in. Comfort working in hotter environments, dirtier areas, and dealing with hazardous materials is essential. The team will work with various elements from the periodic table and must adhere to all safety processes and ISO regulations. This is a 1st shift position with hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime. The team consists of seven people, working in smaller groups to compound materials, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.25 - $26.25/hr.
