Summary   This role will be responsible for driving CAE’s organic growth within space domain pursuits. This role will be expected to drive strategic growth activities relevant to penetrating a new market—from strategy to business development, partnerships, thought leadership, technical engagement, and R&D and engineering teams, among other activities. The Space Domain Lead’s mission is to identify opportunities and partnerships within the space domain aligned with CAE’s technologies and areas of expertise to secure a leadership position in future applications of modeling, simulation, and training in the next three to five years, with a parallel focus on realizing immediate, measurable success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   + Refine CAE’s market penetration strategy for the USSF [ and NASA ] considering the RDT&E budget, forthcoming RFPs, OTAs, and partnerships. The strategy should be geared towards long-term transformative growth, while securing near-term beachhead contracts + Organize and lead cross-functional efforts to develop relationships and capture business across the USSF through meaningful customer and partner organization engagements + Manage, prepare and package concise and compelling briefings that include the positioning strategy/plan, customer mapping, customer needs, value propositions and action plans required to qualify/pursue opportunities with a winning strategy + Develop and communicate business case rationale, risks, and customer value propositions to executive leadership and capture teams across the entire USSF + Lead, review, manage, analyze and understand the customers’ desired capabilities, the competitive environment, and tech trends to incorporate into actionable strategies and tactics through experience, research, and engagement + Provide input into technical solutioning and price-to-win analysis, and assist with business case analysis + Develop meaningful thought leadership and marketing campaigns that allow CAE to cultivate a strong market position within the space domain + Work with the R&D, engineering, and program management organizations to guide technology development to meet customer needs + Coordinates and leads customer engagements, demonstrations and briefing presentations + Leads preparation of a competitor analysis (black hats) to support capture teams + Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices Qualifications and Education Requirements   + Demonstrated experience capturing and growing business within the space sector + Understanding, and knowledge of USSF OTTI and NSTTC programs + Proven knowledge of the USSF acquisition process and industry pursuit cycle with the ability to influence, build relationships, communicate, understand customer needs, and develop winning strategy/solutions + Experience in the training and simulation market + Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field + 10+ years of relevant experience + At least 3 years of experience driving—or contributing to—corporate growth + Demonstrated technical acumen—an ability to dive a layer or two deeper into the technology to guide strategy and product development + Secret Security Clearance + A proven track record of sustained business growth, organization leadership, and/or leading government programs + Must have knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition process (FAR/DFARS, OTAs, etc.) + Demonstrated written and oral presentation skills including the ability to generate written material to communicate to customers at all levels, including senior executives, partners, and government entities + Experience leading teams and managing budgets + Demonstrated ability to build customer and industry relationships + Ability to travel up to meet growth needs + Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  Preferred Skills   + Proven track record closing space contracts + Understanding of engineering and program management processes/procedures + Knowledge of industry leading growth activities + Knowledge of Sales Force and other organization tools that can drive a growth organization + Technical/Proposal writing + Technical presentations + Top Secret Security Clearance preferred + Relationship development and management Security Responsibilities   Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
