Space Vehicle Engineer - Ops Support
**Job Description** **US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED** \#LI-NP1 Seeking a Systems Engineer for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. These positions require the availability to work overtime and non-scheduled call-in support, working a combination of day staff and shift schedules with assignments based on the dynamic needs of the team. Perform as the prime technical engineer for a satellite subsystem in a 24hr seven day-a-week environment. Responsibilities include analyzing system hardware state-of-health; providing engineering technical support in response to system issues/discrepancies; perform calibration activities to ensure specification requirements are met; create/maintain documentation and procedures associated with the system; interface with factory team and other support contractors; provide technical briefings to the customer and company management. Occasional call-ins and travel are required. Job location is in the Newington/Springfield Va area. Location: Near Springfield, Virginia. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. **What You ll Do:** + Provide engineering support in a dynamic and diverse environment to ensure seamless execution of critical software and hardware systems. + The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. + After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success. + Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people.) + Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. + Perform other duties as necessary. **On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. **Working Conditions:** + Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment. + May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required. + May access other facilities in various weather conditions. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience. + Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. + Ability to attain a TS/SCI with CI Poly government issued security clearance is required. + TS/SCI clearance and CI Polygraph must be obtained before start dated can be established. + Experience in problem solving in time-critical situations. + Experience implementing technical instructions or procedures documents. A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred). + Providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $75570.000 - $128480.000 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
