The Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Development Program (CLDP) Health and Medical Technical Authority (HMTA) Support Team Lead provides leadership and technical oversight for the HHPC CLDP HMTA and Human Health and Performance (HHP) Program support team at Johnson Space Center (JSC).
The successful candidate will join a team of integrators and subject matter experts (SMEs) who ensure the NASA Commercial LEO Program is adequately incorporating and implementing HMTA standards from NASA-STD-3001 into vehicle design. The position obtains and maintains broad knowledge of all human health and performance requirements, including: crew health, environmental factors, medical operations, physiology, anthropometry, strength and biomechanics, maintenance and housekeeping, safety, habitability and architecture, information management, and displays and controls.
Human Systems Integration (HSI) strategies are implemented to inform HMTA and efficiently support the CLDP. The CLDP HMTA Support Team Lead ensures processes and data management strategies are developed and implemented to facilitate HSI at the Programmatic and Project level. The CLDP HMTA Support Team Lead will monitor how well HMTA requirements are met, ensure that issues of unmet or under met requirements are documented, communicate the status of these issues to the Commercial LEO Chief Health and Performance officer (CHPO), and prepare materials for communicating awareness or escalating issues as needed. The position will interface with HMTA and HHP management as well as with CLDP personnel. Lessons learned while providing support to CLDP will be leveraged to improve HMTA standards and strategic.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and task management for the HHPC CLDP HMTA Support team of Requirement Integrators, Provider Leads, and HSI LeadOnboard/train new team members and facilitate ongoing training/development opportunities for the team, including management of training materialsCoordinate with CLDP HMTA management and HSI Discipline LeadDevelop and integrate HMTA/HHP programmatic and technical risksProvide technical recommendations related to HMTA requirements and HSI best practicesProvide insight to compliance with HMTA mandatory standards as well as inform HMTA decisionsCoordinate with CLDP personnel as neededProvide technical review and input into CLDP document and design reviews, develop corresponding summary assessments, and follow up on resulting actionsProvide technical review and input to HHPC Commercial LEO support team productsManage the development and implementation of team processes to support CLDP Milestones, team tasks, and actionsParticipate in development of position papers, presentations, and/or requirements interpretations for HMTA issuesParticipate in HMTA meetings, CLDP Boards, Panels, and Working Group meetings, HHP meetings, and internal team meetings; develop and deliver presentations as necessaryProvide inputs to monthly technical, cost, and schedule reports and estimatesEnsure compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental planResponsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and proceduresAbility to travel to domestic locations for up to 1-week duration

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
