Procurement Policy
Adhere to specialized equipment and materials procurement policies and procedures in line with corporate procurement strategy in order to ensure the integrity of supply and support the achievement of corporate production objectives
Market Knowledge
Research aspects of domestic and international suppliers and products as well as gather data as instructed
Supplier Relationship Management
Maintain organized record of supplier contact information and correspondence to enable quick reference to information as required
Requirement Planning and Coordination
Assist in filing all tender and shipping documentation and correspondence
Assist in tracking the Inventory of critical specialized items and materials on a periodic basis and coordinate activity with the Supply Chain Management function
Support preparation of claims against suppliers issues in order to ensure that costs are reclaimed
Process
Assist in commercial evaluation of tender bids
Check for required approvals and financial authorizations to place orders with suppliers in line with set corporate financial authority limits
Qualifications
University Graduate with a degree in engineering, commerce / business administration
Experience
2 years purchasing experience in the steel industry
Fundamental technical and engineering knowledge and a basic understanding of the operations of a steel plant
