The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Corporate Event Planner Specialist reporting to the Global Service and Event Planning Supervisor.

 

This position sits on-site in Miami, FL

 

Position Summary:

The Corporate Event Planner Specialist owns the seamless delivery and execution of all Corporate Meeting & Incentive Groups and is responsible for planning all aspects of Corporate, Meetings and Incentive groups from day of contract execution until sailing termination.  The Event Planner of Corporate Service will liaise with clients (Incentive Houses, Corp Directs, Buyers, C level Decision Makers and Meeting Planners) to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction and successful onboard execution while seeking, whenever possible, opportunities to upsell onboard packages to maximize opportunities for revenue generation. The Corporate Event Planner Specialist of Corporate Service will negotiate and secure onboard venue space and coordinate Audio / Visual requirements, offer ensure F&B options, branding are arranged for each assigned program and all other program enhancements.   This person must be able to anticipate program needs, recommend creative solutions, discern work priorities and meet deadlines with little supervision.  The Corporate Event Planner Specialist Service should have experience in event planning, be capable of providing outstanding customer service and be an enthusiastic professional who can build relationships with both external and internal customers.  The Corporate Event Planner Specialist Service position will play a critical role in pre-cruise revenue generation and offering creative customized onboard experiences during the pre-sail process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Owns and oversees the overall coordination process for assigned accounts and group programs by ensuring that all aspects are processed in an accurate and timely manner. Responds to all inquiries relating to the program planning through phone or through written correspondence while adhering to departmental guidelines. Seeks to upsell onboard amenities and packages to corporate clients throughout the life of the contract Responsible for achieving annual departmental, as well as pre cruise onboard revenue goals  Liaisons with Onboard Revenue teams for Shore-Excursions, Spa, F&B, Specialty Restaurants, Internet and Photo to drive pre-cruise sales  Reviews all aspects of group contract, including verification of cabin inventory, pre-approved venue conformation and amenities, air requirements, hotel packages, accounting invoices, payments, commission refunds, manifests and documentation. Clearly explains expectations to prevent miscommunications between Royal Caribbean and the Meeting Planners. Conducts Week of Sailing Calls to review all program details in the amenity report and to make program adjustments is necessary. Finalizes and processes amenities in both the AS400 and Affair ware systems. Researches the logistics and costs of amenity requests, processes all pertinent materials to be sent on board the ships and is responsible for communicating verbally and in written form to all supporting departments in relation to amenity/function requests. Escorts Day site, site sailing and program sailings as well as conducts Recon meetings as needed Processes and enters AFCs received for correction or additions to groups. Establishes an excellent business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and anticipates the needs of assigned accounts and advises them of opportunities to sell additional business. Communicates terms and conditions of all new groups booked to assigned accounts. Reviews all exceptions to policy with Department Supervisor Continuously seeks out new and innovative ways to maximize the business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean. Financial Responsibilities:

This person manages $5B+ global annual payment activity in different currencies. 

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university preferred; or three to five years of related experience in (Event Planning, Sales or Customer Service)  Experience (phone sales, customer service and/or event coordination) Must have the ability to analyze problems and follow a logical course for its resolution.  Must be able to view a situation from all angles and determine the best course of actions, considering all details.  Service Oriented with a Strong Sales Focus Creative Thinker Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments at one time Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision Possess fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality Detail oriented Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills and speaking Liaison with the Corporate Sales Team to ensure a successful turnover of contract which will allow for seamless execution AS400, Affair ware, Microsoft Office, insight

 

Work Environment:
