Job Summary

The Quality Assurance & Food Safety (QA & FS) Analytics Specialist is responsible for helping to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used across the QA/FS department by gathering, reviewing and analyzing relevant data generated through the use of applied statistics and the latest data visualization tools. This role will create reports, graphs, and trend analyses used to make continuous improvements to processes, produce report using predictive analytics to comply with regulatory requirements, and provide sound data-based analysis to support Wayne-Sanderson Farms decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

Assist the QA & FS Data Analytics Mgr with translating business objectives into detailed requirements, data models, and data transformation documentation, supporting the development of advanced reporting and analytical solutionsIdentify, gather, clean, and prepare QA & FS datasets from various internal and external sources to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistencyPerform data analysis to identify trends, forecast QA/FS performance indicators, and provide recommendations to help the optimization of operational efficiencyAssist with the creation of visually appealing and informative reports, dashboards, and visualizations tools to communicate QA/FS data insights in real-time and in a clear and actionable mannerInterpret datasets and apply critical thinking to explain practical implications of data findings as well as developing narratives around data insights to make data relatable and meaningful to applicable personnelIdentify opportunities to improve and automate QA & FS data collection, analysis and reporting processes, develop improvement process and communicate to appropriate leadership; participate in or lead teams to implement changesTranslate business needs into concrete data requirements through the definition of data profile with quality minimums and calculation logic.Handle large datasets to assess, define, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills experience in delivering substantial, measurable, business outcomes through well-structured and communicated analysesDemonstrated knowledge of data collection schemes and analysis with the ability to facilitate data collection, compile data into meaningful reports, graphs, and charts; strong applied statistical analysis experience neededExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) with the ability to create presentations to communicate succinct, yet meaningful information for external and internal customersUtilize SQL/Tableau/Python/R/Power BI or other relevant programming tools for data mining, data profiling, data visualization and predictive analyticsMust have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written, in a timely, scientific, and professional manner; ability to communicate in multiple languages preferred. Other language capabilities preferred.Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail.Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgencyAbility to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or other related discipline from an accredited institution. Data analysis, statistical analysis, machine-learning, and or visualization certificates. Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Experience

The position requires a minimum of one (1) years of data analytics experience, preferably related to food science or food safety experience.

Office
