10-month position - 2 Positions Commencing September 2025 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Seeking dual-certified 9-12 special education and content (Biology, Social Studies, Math) teachers to provide instruction and support students enrolled in the BT BOCES Virtual Learning Academy. Key responsibilities include: + Teach courses in their certified area for VLA students + Provide support to the VLA Special Education program + Design, facilitate, implement, and monitor the progress of IEP goals as needed + Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and methods, including differentiation, to meet diverse student needs + Structure the student environment to provide a supportive virtual educational setting that maximizes student potential + Ongoing collaboration with the Student Success Team, and other teachers working with the students + Support students to achieve high expectations + Accurately complete all paperwork related to provided services in a timely manner as mandated by NYS and school policies and procedures Job Qualifications REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher: SWD 7-12 Generalist or SWD All Grades AND + NYS Certification in Biology, Social Studies or Math + Strong collaboration skills + A commitment to meeting the needs of every student + A strong belief that all students can succeed + Strong use of instructional technology to meet student needs + Experience in virtual teaching preferred Civil Service Title: Special Education Teacher Job Number: 25-136
