Supervises teachers and teaching assistants in curriculum, units of study, lesson plans, assessment, teaching strategies, and classroom management. In collaboration with the principal, is responsible for the oversight of the curriculum, report cards, state testing, classroom observations, compliance, teacher coaching, supervision, and program QA.
Responsibilities
• Develops, implements, and trains all staff in curriculum, behavior modification classroom techniques, and Individual Education Plans.
• Coordinates completion of all quarterly and annual review reports.
• Assists in interviewing and hiring of Teachers and Teacher Assistants.
• Assists in creating class lists and schedules.
• Assists in the acceptance and placement of all students.
• Assists in planning school events and trips.
• Co-leads classroom meetings.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team and parents to determine the most suitable school placement for children based on individual needs.
• Assists in Committee on Special Education district meetings to advocate for most appropriate school placement for children evaluated.
• Coordinates NYS academic testing.
• Classroom observations.
• Lesson plan review and development.
• Assists with coordinating professional development.
• Supervises teachers and teaching assistants as directed by the principal, including onboarding and coaching.

Requirements NYS Students with Disabilities Certification, School Building Leader Certification preferred. K-8 Classroom and curriculum development experience preferred. Salary Description 70,000.00-70,000.00/year
