Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents who face significant emotional, behavioral and intellectual/developmental challenges. Located in Viera, FL, this position is responsible for:

Communicates course content clearly and effectively to studentsDemonstrates mastery of subject matterProviding intensive services to children and adolescents (6-17 years of age) within a four to six month treatment periodComprehensive therapeutic approach in which service delivery is based on the individual needs of the client and their familyClients have issues relating to emotional, behavioral, and psychological problems due to histories of physical abuse and/or sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, unresolved trauma or psychological conditions that hinder them from functioning in a family environment.

Position Details:

Subjects teaching: Adolescent boy’s Science-certification minimum is Science 5-9.  Adolescent IDD Social Studies-certification Social Studies 5-9 or Social Science

Pay Range: This position starts at $52,000 / annual.  Salary is based on relevant education and experience. 

Schedule: Work hours are from 8:00am-4:00pm (School hours are 9:00am-3:00pm).

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university required.Florida Educator Certificate (Elementary Ed and ESE Preferred) or current Status of Eligibility required.Experience in teaching Individuals with Autism preferred.Minimum of three years experience working with Emotional Behavioral Disability students is preferred.

Schedule:

Must be able to complete a two-week new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 9:00am.to 5:00pm each day in Titusville.Work hours are from 8:00am-4:00pm (School hours are 9:00am-3:00pm). We operate the school year-round (49-week education instruction with 3 weeks of summer break)

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s licenseSuccessfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical and TB Test.
