Special Fluids sell hydrocarbon solvents to diverse markets (paints, adhesives inks, water treatment, offshore drilling, crop protection). The specialist production facility in Oudallle, France uses the patented HDA process with customers being supplied directly from France or with core grades from UK storage facilities  

Customers range from local affiliates of large multinational industrials, chemical distributors to specialist SMEs  

 

 

Activities

Safety 

Ensure that all activities related to the job are carried out with safety as a first priority including customer site complianceEnsure that incidents and near misses are followed up appropriately with relevant customersConduct task observations and develop stakeholder safety culture 

Planning & Reporting  

Develop profitable sales strategiesAssist in preparation of PLT, Budgets and sales forecasts. Produce Business Line reportsPilot sales & profitability taking corrective action to ensure targets are metUnderstand technical & legislative information relevant to market segmentsLiaise with technical & commercial departments in Paris

Account Management & Sales 

Excellent knowledge of market segmentsCommercial & technical understanding of customer’s businessEnsure strong long-term customer relationships at multiple organisational levelsDevelop, manage and deliver customer account plans (Key Account, Distributor, Direct customers)Liaison with International Key Account managers for sustainable customer relationshipsManagement and application of pricing policies, ensuring correct SAP entry and invoice processingPricing and contract negotiation meeting business objectivesPromote added-value services and differentiate Total’s offer ensuring sales and services to customers are followed upPilot consignment stock and adherence to company standards Credit Management (Credit Limits, Credit Review, Marketing Risk, DSO & Aged Debt) – ensure customers pay to termsInvestigation, resolution and follow-up of customer complaints

CRM (Salsa) & Market Development 

Use Salsa in line with B2B Excellence guidelines Visit frequency, data input, visit reports, action plan follow-up, management of opportunities…Application of market information (customer, products, competition…) to develop effective business line strategiesAnalyse and understand market trends carrying out ad-hoc reports and studies Discover new application areas for existing productsProspect for new customersPromote cross-sellingRepresent the company at exhibitions and associated eventsUse of company digital tools 

Provide holiday and sickness cover for team members  

Cross-functional support, interacting with departments supporting Special Fluids promoting efficient ways of working 

Candidate Profile

 Job Responsibilities
