Special Hazards Suppression Outside Sales

This position is responsible for developing new account sales, service agreements from vendors and branch support of Special Hazard Suppression Systems in a variety of markets. Special hazard fire suppression systems detect and suppress fires when water-based fire sprinklers are not appropriate and are designed to minimize downtime and limit the loss of assets, information, and revenue. 

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year depending on experience plus incentives. 

Job Responsibilities

Establish contact with prospective and qualified potential buyers of special hazards suppression systems, inspections, and services by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads and outlined marketing strategies. Vendor relations, pricing, and programs. Complete the sale of special hazard suppression systems and upgrades supporting recurring monthly service customers (maintenance, monitoring, test, and inspection) Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support the established sales plan. Maintain existing database and develop and maintain new customer relationships to ensure growth. Support other WSFP Teams in their initiatives. Complete understanding of all Company sales pricing worksheets and Company contract terms. Create and conduct effective proposal presentations, identifying the prospect’s fire and life safety issues, the effects of the problems and solutions offered. Keep supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations. Provide other support whether apparent, required or needed. Complete additional projects as developed and assigned by your supervisor or management. Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in various computer programs and Microsoft Office software programs. Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment. Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude. Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines. Dedicated to superior client service.

 Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NICET Level I is preferred. Two plus years proven sales experience in the special hazard suppression systems. Experience working with and selling clean agent systems, inerting systems, hi-fog systems, aerosol systems, dry chemical systems, water-mist systems, suppression releasing systems. Experience working with electrical contractors, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Strong prospecting skills. Proven ability to close sales and achieve sales goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, solid presentation skills and closing techniques. Familiarity with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software is highly recommended. Travel is required in the territory. Valid Driver’s License. Willing to pass a post-offer drug screen and background check

Knowledge:

Understanding of suppression systems and their controls. Understanding of materials used in suppression system construction / installation. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

NICET Level I or II (in the field of Special Hazards Systems / Alarm and Detection)
