Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Special Procedures Tech – Bellevue.

In this role, the successful candidate performs medically prescribed radiographs and interventional procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Has a clear understanding of the mission of the hospital and the Cardiac Cath / EP / Radiology Department. Report malfunctioning, damaged or missing equipment parts to MDs, nursing and contracted vendor (Crothall). Prepare, prime and set ready for use, the contrast injector. Send, retrieve from archive, move, split, copy, delete, import and request assistance for problems with images in the PACS system. Assist in the back loading of data into the PACS system after a downtime. Maintain radiology inventory supplies by anticipating needed items, regularly checking inventory level, and placing order for new supplies Maintains a clean and safe environment by complying with processes and regulations. Is aware of the policies and procedure for reporting and contacting radiation safety issue to the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Ensures the use of gonad shielding on all patients whenever possible. Use lead markers indicating laterality and Tech ID on all images. Use the patient positioning, the immobilizing devices, equipment adjustment and technique factors appropriate to the body party being studied to obtain optimal image quality. Demonstrates knowledge of the radiation safety protocols and the ALARA principle and incorporates them into the performance of all general diagnostic exams. Maintain daily QA, QC phantom calibrations log book for compliance issues. Has knowledge of how to perform daily QA, QC phantom calibrations an all general diagnostic units and equipment. Maintain active certification and or licensing by all city, state and or federal regulatory agencies as required by law and provide proof of all required continuing education programs mandated by law. Demonstrate knowledge and dominance on equipment set-up, utilization and care of the equipment. Prepare and clean the exam area before and after each patient. Demonstrates proper scrub technique Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with department protocols and standards. Effectively assess patients information and status, and follows appropriate procedure(s) accordingly Capable of recognizing and reporting the first sign of medical emergencies to the MDs and nursing staffs. Understand and demonstrates skills applying established procedures for patient identification. Understand and apply the organizations service standards and incorporates them into the daily workflow of the Cardiac Cath / EP / Radiology area. Other duties as assigned by the DON, Head Nurse, Nursing Lead and MDs accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology. New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology. 1-2 years work experience as a radiology technician in any medical facility. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Contrast Injection Certification Cardiac Cath Lab Experience Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab Experience

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $82,959.44 – $90,853.42 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
