Up to $7,500 Sign-on Bonus Shift: 40 hrs. (days, evenings, nights, depends on availability) (Occasional on-call and rotating weekends may be required) Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - Interventional Radiology + Verifies the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth. + Corroborates patient's clinical history and ensures information is documented and available for use. + Assist with patient interviews before a procedure and documents all relevant information. + Ensures that the attending radiologist obtains the proper informed consent. + Prepares the patient for procedures to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. + Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients’ status. + Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and strictly practices aseptic technique. + Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies. + Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. + Positions the patient for the examination and obtains good technical quality scout film of the area before starting procedures. + Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure. + Initiates life support measures for patients and assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during medical emergencies. + Maintains working knowledge of all patient monitoring devices. + Provides patient education in collaboration with other department staff. + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate degree or equivalent Certification and Licensing: State of Florida General Radiographer License American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified in Radiology CPR/BLT certification Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail. + Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion. + Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. + Commitment to the University’s core values. + Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
