Responsibilities Operate all interventional radiology equipment safely and proficiently, handling inpatient and outpatient procedures. Communicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel to thoroughly discuss all aspects of procedures. Assess patient data to interpret the information needed for identifying each patient's requirements, considering age-specific needs, and provide appropriate care. Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Implement radiation protection and safety standards. Prepare, perform, and assist the physician in procedures. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications and witness the disposal of medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history). Access existing IV/ports and administer medications as ordered by a physician. Qualifications Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology training program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA. Registered or registry eligible with the ARRT If registry eligible upon hire, you must become registered within one year of employment Basic Life Support certification Preferred Job Requirements: Interventional Radiology Tech experience
