Job Description:

The Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is responsible for safe and efficient control of all air and ground traffic for Majors Field. Candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork and accountability skills. Candidate must be punctual and have a flexible schedule to meet requirements of the position.

Essential Functions:

Monitor all navigational aidsFormulate and distribute “Notice to Airmen”Direct and control movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ground that could compromise the safety of arriving and departing aircraftMeasure, interpret, and relay weather data/reportsCoordinate with Ft. Worth Center and Flight Service Station to facilitate the safe and expeditious flow of traffic into, out of and transitioning through our airspaceInitiate crash phone in all emergenciesProvide weather report/observations to Ft. Worth Flight Service Station for entry into the National Service system if the Automatic Weather Reporting System is not workingCoordinate with adjacent air traffic for flight clearances and releasesMonitor and report bird conditionsTrack aircraft departures and arrivalsReport to program managers upon arrival of program aircraftFile appropriate internal paperwork prior to contract flight departuresThe position is subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident).Willingness and ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet company objectivesAbility to climb stairs via the outside stairwell to enter and exit the tower in the event of an emergency or elevator maintenance

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Current or previous CTO Certificate and a current Class II Medical Certificate.  Controller must have held a Control Tower Operator Certificate (CTO) with a facility rating for a minimum of two (2) years in an Air Traffic Control Tower Ability to obtain CTO certificate for Majors Field within 2 months after hired. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
