About this role

This role will provide subject matter expertise in the development of enterprise-wide asset strategy concepts, risks and opportunities which underpin key business decisions and company direction.

Your role will consist of Formulate Asset Strategy Pathways by combining key project, operational, risk and sustainability-related development to articulate the financial and organizational implications and deliver recommendations for Head Asset Strategy to help understand portfolio-level implications. Inform the ELT to be informed of specific portfolio configurations.Facilitate the creation of various elements for portfolio strategies, such as asset-specific and operational scenarios, financial aspects, project development factors, and timing.Conduct thorough strategic evaluation of assets, projects, and functions in the portfolio to aid in understanding financial independence between parts of the portfolio.Formulate a deep understanding on the first order impacts of economic input assumptions on portfolio operational risk, organizational behaviors and financial outcomes, to deliver inputs to Head Asset Strategy.Formulate a comprehensive 'Asset on a Page' overview for specific assets to display various tactical and strategic choices across different timeframes.Facilitate evaluation of risks throughout the entire portfolio to ensure comprehensive risk analysis.Coordinate with the Asset Evaluation and Financial Asset Analysis teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of financial and technical possibilities.Facilitate translation of Asset options into modeling and evaluation of trade-offs at the Enterprise level.Coordinate the conception and implementation of tools to streamline and improve analysis. Works in established systems and processesCompares data collected from processes with a known model or systemImagines how tasks might be completed without direct, physical, hands-on feedbackSolves problems where trial & error may not be sufficient; other methods may be requiredExtrapolates patterns to make predictionsImproves work methods using significant data and patterns; determines whether a diagnosis is correct or whether it may occur from another patternYour training, skills, and experience Professional designation: Engineering / Earth Sciences / Finance / Business.Advanced proficiency in analytics, data interrogation and scenarios, Competent understanding across full value chain: operations, planning, capital projects, sustainability, finance and riskAdvanced proficiency in Power Point and Excel skills,Competent in storytelling through data and analytics,Strong competency in commercial skills: budgets, forecasting, planning, analysis, reporting,Strong understanding of mining and how different parts of the mining life cycle impact financial statements.Working conditions and location

Ideal location is Denver, Colorado, but open to Newmont locations for consideration.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $108,000 to $141,750 USD. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  


This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
