The **Specialist, BD Excellence** is responsible for leading and/or supportting continuous improvement initiatives such as Internal Kaizen, Shingijutsu Event, CI projects and other activities. Responsible for monitoring metrics compliance related to the BD Excellence continuous improvement program and related metrics. Responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects and/or programs. Work with functional areas to improve productivity, efficiency, and capacity. Provide engineering support to Lean Manufacturing activities. Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to day-to-day situations and look for improvements. **Responsibilities:** + Active member of Focused Improvement (FI) component team + Help generate, sustain, and deliver a multi-year Cost to Win (CTW) portfolio, support governance processes, and optimization of the site loss landscape. Help meet or exceed CTW goals through leading and/or supporting FI team savings projects + Prepares monthly Kaizen reports. + Supports the Manufacturing and Non-manufacturing Departments in the coordination and implementation of Kaizens and CI projects. + Supports Manufacturing, Quality, and Support areas in 5S implementation and audits. + Evaluate existing business processes to identify areas for improvement. + Support the design and implement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. + Manage cross-functional project teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement + initiatives. + Use data analysis tools to monitor the effectiveness of process changes. + Maintain detailed records of processes, results, and findings. + Present progress reports and outcomes as needed. + Supports Manufacturing and Support Departments to sustain the TIER 1 and TIER 2 Daily Management System + Conduct PVD Board and TIER 1 meeting audits. Document and report audit findings. + Active participation during the implementation of new methods or systems to improve productivity. + Provide support to Lean Manufacturing activities. Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to day-today situations and look for improvements. + May be assigned to manage specific programs/Projects. + Actively support Continuous Improvements efforts by leading, coordinating and/or participating in blitzes, value stream maps and projects as required. + Ensures follow-up on improvement events are completed and realized gains are maintained. This includes scheduling and facilitating ongoing status reviews with all vested parties. + Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of process improvements and standard methodologies focused on improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. + Support implementation and integration of BD Excellence in the site by demonstrating an active and open approach of improvement by try-storming changes. + Drive use of effective data-driven visual management techniques i.e. charts to drive improvement of K.P.I.s such as OEE, waste, productivity, etc. + Help develop and grow capability through components and component teams to establish fundamentals of excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. + Support CI Recognition Plan. + Manages Gemba Program and actively participates in Gemba Walks to find opportunities and implement corrective actions. + Ensure metrics data reported in the respective files or app, such as Dploy. + Provides support to the safety program to maintain plant metrics compliance. + Promotes a safe work environment. Provides recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental Health and Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies' supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices. + Actively participates in the Shift Start Up meeting by attending, leading shift startup meeting and providing appropriate metrics as required. + Actively attend and participate in the ESC meetings and initiatives. + Performs other related duties and assignments as required. **Qualifications** **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Science, or a related field. + Experience in project management, data analysis, and process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen. + Minimum of 2 years similar experience in Medical Devices/Pharmaceutical Industry or a regulated industry **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** + Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. + Knowledge of ISO standards and Quality System Regulations (QSR). + Knowledge in problem-solving techniques. + Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio. + Good interpersonal skills to interact with and influence personnel in other functional areas such as Engineering, QA/QC, and Manufacturing. + Effective oral and written communication skills. + Bilingual (Spanish/English). + Able to prepare and deliver presentations. + Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. + Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills as required. + Demonstrated ability to manage many tasks simultaneously. + Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills. + Willingness to travel to the US mainland and offshore. **Physical Demands:** + Mainly walking and standing to visit production areas observing processes to see opportunities for improvement. Some sedentary work in office environment. + Continuous usage of personal computer, calculation, statistical software and other office equipment. Apply judgment to resolve routine situations related to job functions. Prepare/generate clear and neat information reports in documentation. **Work Environment:** + Normal Office Environment and/or typical production environment.
