Job Description:

Responsible for the information system security controls and to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems remain at the authorized state. Abides by all applicable information system security guidance to sustain customer information systems In Accordance With (IAW) NIST SP 800-53 and any other government and local directives, instructions, or publications pertaining to the ISS Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) responsibilities.  Responsible for the day-to-day ISS verification and validation of the established security controls for ConMon to include Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual ConMon frequencies and associated artifacts and/or Bodies of Evidence (BoEs).  Conducts internal information technology system audits and risk assessments and reports findings and recommendations for corrective actions to management. Executes first level responses and addresses reported or detected incidents. Investigates and analyzes all response activities related to cyber incidents. Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with directives, to include initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events. Safeguards information against unauthorized use, infiltration, exfiltration, modification, destruction, or disclosure of national security information.

Responsibilities include:

Able to provide on-site information System Security (ISS) support for customer systems during the designated duty day.Abides by all applicable information system security guidance and requirements to perform Information Security System (ISS) responsibilities In Accordance With (IAW) NIST SP 800-53 and any other government and local directives, instructions, or publications pertaining to the ISS ConMon responsibilities.Responsible for the day-to-day Information System Security verification and validation of the established security controls for ConMon to include Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual ConMon frequencies and associated artifacts and/or Bodies of Evidence (BoEs).Maintains appropriate cyber certifications per customer contract.Coordinates with customer prior to conducting system ISSO activities to include vulnerability and compliance scanning.Able to recognize and report any maintenance related deficiencies found on the system to customer. Provides on-site information System Security (ISS) support to customer sister organizations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an ISSO (or equivalent position) overseeing cybersecurity on classified and/or unclassified systems under NISPOM Chapter 8, NIST 800-53 and/or NIST 800-171.Minimum of 1 year of experience with Linux/Unix Information System Security requirements to include archiving audit log data.Active TS/SCI Clearance. Minimum Security+ certification required.

May work to justify and gain cooperation regarding processes, practices and procedures.Work individually and as part of a team in a diverse, rapidly changing environment3+ years’ experience as an ISSO (or equivalent position) overseeing cybersecurity on classified and/or unclassified systems under NISPOM Chapter 8, NIST 800-53 and/or NIST 800-171.Practical experience running security compliance scans and interpreting vulnerability scanning results (Nessus, SCAP).Experience completing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) checklists.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
