**Purpose and Scope:**
The Sr. Manager, Medical Affairs (MA) US Data & Analytics is responsible for leading business operations and reporting activities. This position is required to collaborate cross-functionally, provide leadership in developing both qualitative and quantitative reporting that communicates the value of US Field Medical activities and US product metrics across varied levels of management. This position will review metrics and analytic information and develop insights and communication strategies in order to report on the value of US Field Medical activities **.**
**Essential Job Responsibilities:**
+ Provide leadership in creating and refining written and graphic reports that monitor, measure, and communicate US Field Medical value, outcomes, and performance to Field Medical and Sr US MA Leadership. Information provided may be used to identify risk and develop mitigation plans.
+ Lead a robust and integrated data strategy within the assigned Therapeutic Area to obtain, create, enrich, and share medical intelligence in support of the overall MA Insights process.
+ Lead the creation of monthly reports and dashboards that are leveraged to ensure execution of US Field Medical Plans and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
+ Partner with US Field Medical, US Field Excellence Operations, US Medical Information and Global MA Metrics & Analytics (MA M&A) colleagues to identify new data required and ensure integration with existing datasets.
+ Serve as Field Excellence liaison on MA digital cross-functional team to ensure that new advancement in digital innovation in data and reporting are evaluated for Field Excellence applicability.
+ Adapt, provide leadership and innovative solutions in an environment where mature data systems and reporting tools are not yet established.
+ Ensure transparency and implementation of metrics, analysis and reporting best practices and standards across US Field Medical Teams.
**Quantitative Dimensions:**
+ Successful management of complex data sources (structured and unstructured) and resulting datasets/outputs. This position provides direct oversight on reporting process and content for US Field Medical and Sr.MA US Leadership including regular and ad hoc performance reports.
**Organizational Context:**
+ Reports to Director Medical Affairs, US Field Medical Excellence.
+ Collaborates with internal MA stakeholders including MA Global M&A, and other internal stakeholder including Legal, Compliance, RDP (IT), Astellas Informatics and Analytics (AIA), and external vendors.
+ This is a hybrid role working with the expectation to travel in to the corporate office as needed.
+ Approximately 15% domestic travel required per business need.
**Qualifications**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science required.
+ At least 7 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytical or senior management reporting role (market research, competitive intelligence, corporate planning).
+ Demonstrated collaboration and leadership in a matrix organization.
+ Strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to lead non-direct reports in cross-functional areas.
+ Ability to manipulate complex data sets and with an appropriate set of programming and visualization tools (e.g., SAS, Python, R, SQL, Java, SAS, Unix and/or Hadoop, Qlik, Tableau).
+ Demonstrated ability to illustrate and report on complex data, distill complicated concepts, craft a story flow, and communicate with clarity.
+ Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities. Effectively manages changes in direction and operate in ambiguous situations.
+ Extensive computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, SharePoint, Access, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to translate between technical and business management to effectively achieve results.
+ Self-directed, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience with data warehouse reporting and related database management solutions.
+ Excellent skills in the following areas: organization, written and verbal communication, accuracy, and personal initiative.
+ Strong attention to detail.
**Preferred:**
+ IT certifications in appropriate area.
+ Master’s or higher-level degree in data or computer sciences.
+ Previous experience working in a pharmaceutical data environment.
+ Previous experience with Veeva CRM or Veeva Vault data models.
+ Experience in stakeholder facing role (e.g., MSL) or Operational support of stakeholder facing role(s).
**Salary Range** : $153,800 - 205,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, based on experience)
