Specialist, Field Safety - 000EWZ Description The Field Safety Specialist position is a leadership role established to oversee application of the Safety processes for Western Operations in Colorado and Utah. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Daily safety support of and communication with Western Region stakeholders. + On-site support of high-risk projects and maintenance activities (e.g., Job Planning/Prep, Equipment Isolation, Equipment Clearing, Excavations, Safe Work Permitting, and Hot Work/Atmospheric Monitoring). + Assist stakeholders with the mitigation of safety action items. + Visit all control rooms, shops, work sites, pipeline projects, and other field activities on a routine basis to make observations and check compliance and implementation of established safety practices and procedures. + Assist stakeholders with the enforcement of safety policies in regard to contractors. + Prepare for and participate in regulatory required drills. + Participate in local and regional safety committees. + Conduct compliance-audits of permit system. + Participate in various Emergency Response training classes / courses. + Conduct/coordinate classroom and field training meetings as needed. + Distribute and communicate safety materials, lessons learned, and industry literature as needed. + Participate in corporate audits of regional facilities. + Represent Enterprise as a Safety member for regulatory inspections. + Conduct Industrial Hygiene Surveys in areas of responsibility. + Repair and maintain all gas monitoring and Industrial Hygiene safety equipment. + Conduct incident investigations with a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and produce high quality reports. + Support turnaround activities for respective facilities. + Availability to be on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays + Review corporate policies and documents for updates as required. + Assist and backup fellow Safety Specialists when required. Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Safety, or other relevant technical field required; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree. + Certification in the Safety Management field is preferred. + Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) a plus + Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) a plus + Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) a plus + Industrial hygiene experience highly preferred. + Incident Investigation experience is preferred. + Technical writing proficiency and use of Microsoft Office preferred. + Minimum of 3 years in an industrial setting or in the Safety field. + Must be self-motivated to gain knowledge of regulatory affairs in the Safety Management areas. + Must be willing to travel 25-50%.
