We are seeking a dedicated Endpoint Security Hardening Specialist to join our Global Endpoint Engineering team in Oradea. In this role, you will be the primary champion for endpoint security, ensuring our servers, workstations and laptops are fortified against evolving threats. You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining robust security hardening standards, leveraging automation and scripting to enhance our security posture. Your expertise will be crucial in safeguarding Celestica's endpoint environment.
Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Endpoint Security Hardening:
Lead the charge: Take ownership of the endpoint security hardening framework across Celestica. Develop and enforce: Establish, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive security hardening guidelines for all endpoints (servers, workstations, laptops). Automate and monitor: Utilize scripting and automation tools to enforce security configurations and proactively monitor for compliance. Stay ahead of the curve: Research and stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities to proactively update hardening standards. Document and educate: Maintain detailed documentation of hardening guidelines and provide guidance to IT teams and end-users on security best practices.Endpoint Image Management:
Secure by design: Integrate security hardening standards into the build process for server, workstation, and laptop images. Validate and test: Conduct rigorous testing (including regression testing) to ensure the integrity and security of new and updated images.Endpoint Security Configuration:
Harden endpoints deployments: Develop and implement security configurations specifically for endpoints, considering factors like remote access, data protection, and device mobility. Secure remote access: Configure and enforce security policies for endpoints connecting to the corporate network remotely. Device encryption and data protection: Implement and manage encryption solutions to protect sensitive data stored on endpoints.Collaboration and Support:
Partner with IT teams: Collaborate closely with local and global IT teams to implement and maintain security hardening standards. Provide expert guidance: Offer support and guidance on endpoint security-related issues and incidents. Champion security awareness: Promote a security-conscious culture by educating and advocating for best practices. Knowledge/Skills/CompetenciesTechnical Skills:
Deep security knowledge: Extensive knowledge of endpoint security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques. Operating system expertise: Strong understanding of Windows operating system, including security configurations and hardening techniques. Automation and scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automating security tasks and enforcing policies. Endpoint management tools: Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., BigFix,) for deploying security configurations and monitoring compliance. Security frameworks: Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS Benchmarks) is a plus.Other Skills:
Analytical and problem-solving mindset: Ability to analyze security risks, identify vulnerabilities, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Strong communication and collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey security concepts and collaborate with diverse teams. Proactive and results-oriented: A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to achieving security goals. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Typical Experience3 to 6 years of proven experience in endpoint security hardening, with a strong understanding of security best practices and industry standards.
Typical EducationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
