Job Title: Specialist, Energetics Manufacturing Engineer Job Code: 20071 Job Location: Orange, Virginia Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Energetics Manufacturing Engineer for our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) that is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion manufacturing and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs. The Specialist, Energetics Manufacturing Engineer contributes to the development of new processes and supports energetics / solid rocket motor propulsion activities. This role utilizes a wide application of standard principles, theories, techniques, and concepts, plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines to advance manufacturing operations. This position supports developmental and established solid rocket motor programs. Essential Functions: + Works under limited supervision and is responsible for entire projects / processes within job area. + Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area. + Prepares and maintains detailed process work instructions. + Develops hazards analyses for manufacturing operations. + Creates and revises workflow parts, routings, MBOMs, and other related items and tasks in the site ERP system. + Analyzes data and results, applies systematic problem solving, and establishes root cause to develop and implement corrective actions. + Assists in product and tooling drawing design reviews. + Monitors operation activities for safety and quality compliance to established process instructions. + Develops risk mitigating and defect minimizing solutions to address product non-conformance issues. + Prepares process flow diagrams, leads PFMEAs, and utilizes statistical process control techniques. + Interfaces with internal and external customers. + Ability to travel up to 20% within the US. Qualifications: + Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level . + Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant engineering experience. + Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience. + In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related engineering experience. Preferred Additional Skills: + Experience working in a manufacturing environment required. + Demonstrated capability to interpret drawings / requirement documents, apply lean principles, and utilize statistical process control tools required. + Ability to work well in a team environment required. + Experience with energetic materials strongly desired. + Chemical or Polymer Engineering degree or combination of chemistry degree with engineering experience is preferred. + Working knowledge of the application of DOD 4145.26M, OSHA PSM, and associated supporting documentation is preferred. + Project management experience a plus. + Experience with MS Project a plus.
