Job Title: Specialist, Process Engineer Job Code: 21035 Job Location: Orlando, Florida Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Aerojet-Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company is seeking a Process Engineer at our Orlando, FL location. This role d evelops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Essential Functions: + Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management + Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight + Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures + Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes + Respond to urgent and important production events in a timely manner including non-conformances, in-process approvals, and process plan corrections or updates. + Provide clarification and training to technicians and inspectors to accomplish pertinent processes + Generate new process plans for new processes and products to include fabrication experiments or pilots + Review and provide feedback on new product designs from a Process Engineering perspective + Review and provide feedback on Design Engineering changes from a Process Engineering perspective + Coordinate initiation of Design Engineering Changes based on issues encountered in Proof of Manufacturing/Production environments + Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties + Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant Process Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: + Knowledge base of some or all of the following: mechanical processes, TIG and MIG welding processes, metal fabrication and/or aerospace related assembly and integration processes + General engineering background and knowledge of quality engineering principles + Ability to be self-directed for most daily activities + Analytical and problem solving skills to interpret and evaluate data and processes + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely + Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings, and specifications + Ability to operate effectively in a team environment + Ability to apply and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing + Ability to use a variety of measuring and test equipment + Knowledge of design practices. + Ability to use various computer systems to produce spreadsheets, reports, and data analysis + Lean Six Sigma experience + AS9100 QMS experience + Experience working on hardware in a Government contract environment. + Experience working in a proof of design/proof of manufacturing environment + Experience with utilizing Windchill software L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
