The Real Estate Store Construction and Development team works together to manage, grow and maintain the current and future fleet of our Stores in North America. Specifically in Store Construction, we work together to grow our fleets footprint and reinvest in our stores through remodels and concept changes. We are quick thinkers, ready to move on any action while also foreseeing possible obstacles along the project path. Our “Win as a Team” approach helps us utilize and improve our tools to better roll out initiatives and work with various vendors to bring the stores to life.
**WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH**
The Project Specialist works directly with the Nike Store Construction team, and cross functional partners such as Loss Prevention, Legal, Store Operations, Lease Administration, Tech Ops, etc. In addition to working with vendors to coordinate and manage various phases of the construction from pre-design to store opening. Reporting to the Project Administration Manager and working closely with the Nike Project Managers, the Specialist will support the team’s effort to assistance the new store initiatives and store reinvestments.
**WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
The Project Specialist needs to have strong organizational and communication skills. They will be working with various stakeholders, scopes, budgets all while other projects are in various construction phases managing the proposals, coordination of visits, legal intake, purchase orders and project completion and close out. Nike Store Construction is a world of change, problem solving, and delivering on time both as the project and financial spend. The Specialist needs to have budget experience and demonstrate adaptability in an environment with constant change.
Expertise and Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training, preferably in Business (finance or accounting), Construction or Project Management
+ 2+ years of work experience in coordinator or specialist role, including working within a cross-functional or cross-category team preferred
+ Experience building relationships with and managing vendor relations
+ Strong Budget Reconciliation skills and proven capability to use data to drive business decisions
+ Proven strong analytical skills and financial modeling, combined with sound financial and business acumen; ability to work with large amounts of data, deal with ambiguity, and be organized and resourceful
+ Experience with SAP, Smartsheets, and PlanGrid preferred
**WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON**
The Project Specialist will support the Nike Store Construction Team with new stores, and reinvestment projects to our existing fleet. The Specialist will lead the tracking of all stakeholders, vendors, and contractors through the end-to-end process of the projects. This person should be a strong relationship builder with a team-first approach and excellent verbal and written communication skills. They should have the ability to navigate complex internal and external relationships, demonstrate sound judgment, and problem solve in ambiguous situations.
+ Support the Project Administration Manager, Nike Program Managers with collaboration of various internal team to drive efficiencies in the development of the new retail stores.
+ Coordinate with external Engineers, Architects, Construction Project Managers, General Contractors, Landlords, Developers, Vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders
+ Support specific projects in the construction phase in a project manager role
+ Manage vendor relationships and ensure vendors’ scope, schedule, and budget align with project goals
+ Track Program real estate reviews, dates, and approvals per program concept
+ Track Program budgets (monthly budget review) for reporting and perform cost analyses.
+ Use tracking tools to document program schedule delays, budget issues, reasons, and solutions.
+ Manage multiple program concepts and projects simultaneously
+ Support cross-functional teams to achieve milestones and objectives
+ Anticipates internal and external business challenges and opportunities that support the Real Estate Store Construction and Development initiatives
+ Proactively seeks to understand the entire Nike enterprise business
