Bristol Myers Squibb has been in operation in Ireland since 1964, employing over 650 people across a range of activities and business units.
Ireland is home to External manufacturing’s global headquarters, the business unit responsible for the management of manufacturing contract operations (CMO’s) and ensuring reliable supply of product to patients across the Bristol Myers Squibb global network.
This includes management of, and working in conjunction with, third party contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites. In Ireland, External Manufacturing has two sites; Global Headquarters based in Dublin 15 and a distribution centre in Shannon, Co Clare.

The Role
BMS External Manufacturing is looking to recruit a Specialist, Site Support & Logistics Planning to be based in Shannon. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Logistics Planning
Manages the planning of Transportation Movements with BMS approved transportation companies and storage facilities, on behalf of ExM from all sites (CMOs, DCs, Intercompany etc) for EMEA/APAC.Manages, resolves issues, implements improvements and ultimately fosters relations between CMO’s and BMS approved transportation companies.Manages transportation redeployments to markets and returns to manufacturing sites.Assist with the Investigation, and successful resolution, of Transportation & Distribution incidents on behalf of ExM in Infinity.Utilises the LIR Tool to facilitate the investigation of Transportation and Distribution Incidents.Ensures that Logistics are managed in the most efficient and cost effective manner by utilising OPEX tools to drive Continuous Improvement to meet, and exceed customer expectations.Assists with reviewing, analysing and authorising Vendor Logistics InvoicesSite Support
Support Facility Management Company and create online requests for Shannon facilitySupport Site Leader by organising Site repairs and maintenance with vendorsSupport the Procurement Group by obtaining quotes from suppliers within the Shannon FacilityRaise electronic requisitions which in turn converts into a Purchase Order/Service OrderFollow up on Invoice query’s and pricing issues relating to these PO/SO’sUpdate training file for all contractor training completedProcess small parcel shipments and Provide details to requestorsEnsuring all SOP’s are adhered to at all timesUpdate Electronic Visual Display from HR Connect each WeekPerform receptionist duties including first point of contact for visitors to the siteQualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
Creates and maintains strong working relationships within the BMS organisation and externally with customers, BMS approved transportation companies & CMOs.Self-driven with a strong customer focus and possess skillset to work on own initiative within a team environment to drive issues to resolution.Ability to translate technical issues into business impact and relevant solutions.Appreciation of performance metrics and their value in influencing Supply Chain results.Must have knowledge of and model the BMS core behaviours.Proactive and positive attitudeWorking Knowledge of SAP, Ariba, Microsoft Packages, Outlook, & Web based ApplicationsAbility to work in a diverse, cross functional teamAbility to prioritise, organize and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlinesInteract with key stakeholders both Internal & ExternalEnhance the ability to work and manage in a complex matrix organizationExcellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical & presentation skills.Proven ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.Knowledge of GMP & GDPQualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or similar would be advantageousPreferred Knowledge and Skill:
Understands BMS Supply Chain, products and markets.Good understanding of business specific organisations & functions (Quality, Finance, SRM, Procurement, EHS, MSO & Supply Chain).Detailed knowledge of ExM Quality Systems and procedures.Knowledge of the EU Directives on the wholesale distribution of medicinal products for human use.Knowledge of the guidelines on GDP of medicinal products for human use.Knowledge of Customs clearance import and export procedures for shipments moving between EU & Non-EU locations.Knowledge of the Classification, Preparation and Transportation of Dangerous Goods to ensure compliance with IATA, ADR & IMDG regulations.Knowledge of Packaging & Transportation solutions to mitigate against logistics incidents that could jeopardise the integrity of pharmaceutical product.Demonstrated capability in the use of OPEX tools for root cause analysis. Ability to close-out investigations and issues with CMOs and BMS approved Transportation companies.Preferred Candidate will have previous experience within a Supply Chain environment, preferably within the “Life Sciences” sector.Why you should apply
