I.    JOB SUMMARY 

The Planning Specialist position is responsible for the production schedule and material planning.  The Planning Specialist will develop and communicate the manufacturing production schedule to the site Value Stream Team as well as determine and implement the material inventory levels to support the plan.

 

II.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for developing, publishing and maintaining site production schedule aligned with S&OP objectives and commercial priorities. Establishes production and inventory plans that balance production resources, supports customer requirements, and meets company inventory objectives.  Develop and maintain a mutually beneficial working relationship with our contract manufacturing fill partners to establish a fill schedule that meets the needs of the master production schedule and distribution/inventory commitments.  Set-up and analysis of planning the material flow processes for a large-scale manufacturing operation.  This includes development of inventory control & Maintenance, independent requirements, and all other required master data within SAP.  Monitor the receipt of raw materials, collaborating with the necessary functional groups on site to ensure the date materials are sampled and released support production needs.      Key member of the CMO Filling Integrated Process Team and Materials Integrated Process Team, supporting the needs of the filling process within the value stream and key materials relative to bulk production. Monitors and maintains all production orders and/or firm planned requirements from creation to completion.  Identify risks and/or changes that will impact the supply of finished goods and escalate as appropriate.  Coordinate and schedule non-manufacturing activities that impact the production areas to maximize up time and reduce impact to supporting departments.  Prepare the 90-day supply plan as required by the S&OE process.  Owns the User Administrator role for the CPI program (serialization software) at the Lansing site, which includes granting/removing program access and yearly system access auditing and review.  Performs other responsibilities and special projects as required.  Long range forecasting material requirements.  Serve as Lansing site coordinator for removal of expiring materials through the MDR process and assist with the destruction process.  Performs training on the MDR process for Admins and End Users.  Facilitator of SAP corrections to materials as needed.  Works with site facilities team to set-up and maintain spare parts. Responsible for analysis of site spare parts inventory, to identify potential obsolescence or overstocked materials.  Ownership of materials master data entry for the Lansing site. Ownership of BOMs and the supporting process at the Lansing site. 

 

Culture Management: 

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, striving for world class designation.  Responsible for safety of self and conformance to company safety policies and procedures. 

 

Compliance:

Initiate, route, and complete applicable Quality Notifications including Deviations, CAPA’s, and Change Controls as needed.  Create, revise/maintain, and route associated departmental SOPs and WIs as needed.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Education:

Incumbent must possess at a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or other related field

 

Experience:

Minimum 8 years of related experience required Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent Analytical skills required Inventory Management Forecasting Prior Biopharmaceutical experience preferred SAP Experience preferred APICS certification preferred

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from $84,500 to $102,200. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.  Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
