Job Title: Specialist, Systems Engineering (RC-135 Simulation Systems) Job Code: 20791 Job Location: Offutt AFB, NE (On-Site) Job Schedule: 1st Shift 5/8 Job Description: The Specialist, Systems Engineering – RC-135 Simulation Systems oversees the operator/station, datalink, mission management integration, development, upgrades, and use of the Mission Crew Training Simulator (MCTS). A thorough understanding of the RC-135 mission, aircraft operational capabilities, employment, crew complements, and various supporting ground mission systems is essential. Essential Duties: + Provides support to RC-135 Rivet Joint aircrew during ground training using the MCTS. + Develops and implements training scenarios, specializing in basic operator, datalink, and mission management functions while interacting with the user during aircrew training events. + Operates the MCTS and associated simulation environment generation processors during mission simulations, Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, and virtual exercises. + Makes recommendations to improve scenario generation software and to resolve equipment problems. + Maintains the software used to operate the simulator and performs system troubleshooting and repair. + Thorough ability to operate RC-135 mission systems hardware and interpret software performance and platform capabilities . + Ability to effectively interact with and speak system capabilities to high-level officials. + Ability to do periodic shift work depending on customer tasking and periodic travel up to 10% of the time. + Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience. + Graduate degree with two (2) years of prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience. + In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years prior experience as a qualified RC-135 mission crew member and/or RC-135 mission trainer/management experience. + Must have an active Secret DoD Security Clearance at the time of hire, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI and CI polygraph within 6 months of employment. + Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within 6 months of hire . + Must be a US Citizen. Preferred Additional Skills: + Knowledge and experience in LINUX or UNIX. + CompTIA Network+, A+ certification or relative experience. + RC-135 Instructor/Evaluator experience. + Active Top Secret/SCI clearance. #LI-AH1 L3Harris Technologies is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
