Purpose Statement To minimise bad debt, enhance profit and mitigate and control risk for Capitec Business Bank through: Taking ownership for and providing specialist expertise during analysis, monitoring, and reporting of the book segmentation, tactical strategies, campaigns (calls/digital) and solutions for pre-delinquent, collections and recoveries. Identifying trends and root causes of arrears and/or downgrade reasons and triggers and client credit portfolios.  Monitoring and enabling appropriate arrears treatments and actions. Identifying, quantifying, analysing and reporting on book trends and reasons/triggers for arrears, excess, risk grade changes, downgrades, write-offs and provisions. Identifying and quantifying high risk portfolios, clients and industries in distress. Providing specialist expertise towards the designing, implementing and monitoring optimal risk management solutions, policies and procedures.
  Experience

Minimum:

3 - 5 years within an ongoing-risk or credit management or finance / credit operational environment.   Applying data for reporting and monitoring purposes. Credit and business analysis experience and influencing processes, policies and procedures.   Consumer and complaint resolutions.

Ideal:

5+ years of experience in an ongoing risk management role, in a credit environment. Drafting business processes, policies and procedures. Process efficiencies: Draft of idea documents and business specifications. Credit book monitoring and reporting.    Case study and root cause analysis.  Experience in granting, collections and/or recoveries and/or intuitive / judgemental credit environment within the financial services sector. Knowledge of / experience in commercial law. Qualifications (Minimum) Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - Financial Accounting or Statistics Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred) Honours Degree in Accounting - Financial Accounting or Statistics Knowledge

Minimum:

Good understanding of credit and corporate legislation and processes. Banking and financial services industry practice. Collateral variants / types of processes. Risk management / disaster recovery and business continuity practices. Operations and process management. National Credit Act (NCA). Retail and/or Business credit products (Fixed term and facilities). Collections and/or recoveries systems and processes.  Reporting and data analytics.

Ideal:

Retail and Business credit products (Fixed term and facilities). Collections and recoveries systems and processes.  Credit risk management throughout the credit life cycle (granting to book sale). Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Banks Act and Basel III Risk Framework.  Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI). Debt Collectors Act (DCA).  Capitec Bank’s Credit Policies. Capitec Bank's banking system (Front- and Back-End). Programming language SQL and database structures. Knowledge of Capitec Bank’s Centralised Collections systems and processes.  Skills Analytical Skills Attention to Detail Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) Numerical Reasoning skills Problem solving skills Conditions of Employment Clear criminal and credit record
