Specialist-Child Life II
Summary Provides leadership and development of the Child Life program. Coordinates all phases of the assessment of the emotional and education development and the therapeutic needs of the pediatric patient. Orients hospital staff to the psycho-social needs of the hospital. Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the accomplishment of department goals and acts as and advocates for the needs of the patient. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities + + Directs and plans the activities of the Child life program. + Manages the quality improvement processes for the program. + Promotes the Child Life Program by establishing a philosophy for the service. + Prepares and executes individual plan of care for pediatric patients. + Integrates child life principles into the daily practices of the health care providers caring for children. + Completes assigned goals. + Manage donations and donor relationships + Supervise volunteers and participate in onboarding/orientation. + Precept Child Life Practicum students + Assists with reports and statistics for grant/donor funding. Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education Preferred: Master degree preferred. Minimum: Bachelor's degree in child development, child life, psychology, or related field. Training Minimum: Completion of a Child Life Specialist Internship and three years' experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist. Preferred: Three years' experience in a hospital setting with pediatric/NICU patients.
