Summary:

Perform programming tasks in multiple controls applications at process facilities and pipeline control points.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

Design, develop, and implement control system (logic software and hardware) to meet integrated system requirements in DeltaV - OPTO - AllenBradley . Serve as lead on assigned projects or engineering assignments. Provide day to day DCS and PLC automation support. Create and maintain daily and custom automated production reports. Works to insure and maintain a safe working environment for self and others by actively participating in safety programs. Develops or modifies control logic to meet changes in equipment or equipment operating conditions. Develops, maintains and updates Standard Operating Procedures for use by Asset Management Team members. Advises the Management Team of any safety-related matters to produce an accident free environment. Participates in facility audit process as company's expert on adherence to local, state and federal construction techniques. Researches and identifies training resources needed to meet instrumentation and controls training requirements specified in company policies and procedures. Personally conducts some of the training when it is needed

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

High school diploma or equivalent Knowledge of Fractionator Controls and Advanced Controls preferred Ability to program PLC Ladder Logic Experience in Process Historian Design and Maintenance Experience with instrumentation basics and HART Communications Experience with MOOBUS Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel applications Intimately familiar with Failsafe Emergency Shutdown Systems and equipment protection fundamentals Must be organized and methodical in diagnosing equipment and controls related problems Strong interpersonal skills are required to interact with all levels of management and non-management personnel. As a Company representative, the incumbent also interfaces with outside regulatory agencies, customers, contractors, and industry counterparts Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 6+ years of relevant job related experience The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions Work may include confined spaces and may require heavy lifting in excess of 50lbs with or without assistance Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment (which may include, but may not be limited to, necessary respirators) Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices Subject to call-outs to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays Reliable attendance at work Occasional overnight travel may be required
