POSITION PROFILE

The Demand Planning Specialist II role consists of two major responsibilities, forecasting and inventory planning. The planner will develop the end to end forecast by identifying the key inputs and drivers, through collaboration with Marketing and other departments, that will impact the demand and supply plan. This plan once developed will be the main driver of all facets of the inventory plan including fill rate analysis, inventory health, product transition, etc... which the planner will monitor and action on a daily basis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

�·         Create a demand forecast based on historical usage factoring in inputs from sales, marketing, finance, exceptional demand analyst, and product life cycle analyst. Will also need to consider other factors such as recurring customer demand, seasonality, promotions, and other market conditions that affect the sales plan

�·         Based on the demand plan and inventory planning parameters, will create the supply forecast understanding key factors such as product transitions, demo room and other non warehouse inventory.

�·         Responsible for overall inventory levels at a national level and will work with deployment team to achieve location inventory targets.

�·         Run daily monitoring reports to esure plan, forecast, inventory levels, fill rates, forecast, and requirements all meet expected targets and are correct. Execute root cause analysis and develop action plan to get misses back on track and develop check point/process change as necessary.

�·         Work with manufacturing on developing inventory recovery plan and lead the execution of plan with the deployment planners.

�·         Review and create action plan for slow and non-moving items. Execute root cause analysis when applicable to understand unhealthy inventory and add check points or recommend process change to avoid in the future.

�·         Work with Product Life Cycle Analyst to review transitioning/EOL/Obsolete items and lead the development of the monthly scrap list.

�·         Provide input, such as expected monthly/daily cash spend, risk inventory, demand/supply plan as well as any ad hoc requests.

�·         Prepare presentation and present information for inventory operations review and collaboration meeting with Marketing.

�·         Review daily/weekly/monthly processes and drive continuous improvements. Work with process improvement team and lead

�·         Provide guidance to item master team on various item issues, particularly focus/non-focus, configurations, and product knowledge.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Typically Required:

�·         Four year college degree

�·         Two year experience in the demand planning/forecasting field

KNOWLEDGE, Skills And Abilities

�·         Intermediate to Advanced user in MS Excel and Access

�·         Intermediate user in other MS Office Applications

�·         Six Sigma, APICs certification a plus

�·         Oracle knowledge a plus

�·         Programming languages/SQL knowledge a plus.

�·         Advanced understanding of demand planning software applications

Working Conditions, MENTAL aND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

�·         Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level

�·         Requires internal contact within department and with other corporate personnel, and external contact with customers, agencies, vendors, etc. and General Public

�·         Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problem

�·         Modest physical effort is required. Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 20 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.)

�·         Requires moderate dexterity �· regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, and eye/hand coordination

�·         Travel _______%
