Position Summary
The purpose of this role to identify and develop creative, innovative ways to bring the communications strategy to life by telling the story of Food Lion's brand, strategy and culture to internal and external audiences. This role contributes significantly to the work of the communications department by being a strategic storyteller who manages and produces digital and video campaigns, supports the execution of leadership meetings and facilitates special projects. The ability to interpret message strategies, proactively brainstorm creative ideas, and collaborate with communications team is essential.
Principle Duties and Responsiblities
Proactively source stories and produce compelling written, digital and video content to be featured on various internal and external communications channels (intranet, newsletters, e-boards, press releases, social media, etc.); serve as field producer for video interviews and coordinate video shoots to support Store Manager of the Year, belonging storytelling campaign, company milestones and other video projects that display the company's brand, strategy and culture. Plan video shoots by scouting, selecting and coordinating shoot locations in partnership with external freelance videographer; script, storyboard, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects; collaborate with communications team on video content that supports client-connected business areas Develop, manage and execute multiple strategic storytelling communications plans that are aligned to communications strategies and outline objectives, key messages, audience, tactics and measurement; evaluate results and determine what worked well and why, as well as what can be improved in the future for increased results Participate in weekly editorial meetings, pitching stories and recommending best channel for content delivery to connect stakeholder audience to company brand, strategy and culture Collaborate with internal business partners as needed to support the planning and execution of special projects, leadership meetings and special events to support associate engagement. Develop production schedule, run of show and other planning documents as assigned to enable successful execution of company leadership meetings. Assist in executing the day-to-day tactics of the communications strategy and other duties as assigned to support the Communications function
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or related field Minimum 5 years in corporate communications, internal communications or public relations role supporting multiple clients, developing and executing strategic communications plans and tracking results Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Fortune 100 companies working on corporate communications or internal communications or public relations team Experience in corporate retail or corporate grocery retail Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint Mastery of AP Style Prior journalism or storytelling experience

Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated mastery of AP Style; ability to understand target audiences and translate complex concepts into clear and concise messages Ability to devise innovative ways to communicate, while aligning with goals and objectives Ability to determine and track metrics to measure effectiveness of communications plan against intended outcomes and business objectives Flexible, collaborative, deadline driven Strong sense of urgency with the ability to multitask effectively to bring projects to a successful closure in a fast-paced environment Experience working with senior leaders, influencing cross-functional teams across multiple departments Ability to maintain confidentiality
