Responsibilities Intranet Solution EngineerRole PurposeThe Solution Engineer provides technical support for solution design and deployment for changes in the intranet environment. Additionally, the Solution Engineer supports the Manager as an SME for guidance on operational issues. The Engineer implements, manages and continuously improves platform technology and integrations with adjacent technologies. The engineer seeks to automate or eliminate repeatable tasks and reduce administrative overhead for themselves and workplace operations, including configuration variations, performance issues and security vulnerabilities.
Functional ResponsibilitiesSolution Design, Build and DeployDesign, develop, and maintain secure and scalable intranet solutions (Sitecore, LumApps, etc).Customize intranet platforms to meet business requirements.Implement features for content management, collaboration, and communication.Supports research, planning, and recommendation of software choices to meet business needsValidates and assists with test case development for Unit, QA and System Integration testing to ensure error-free viability of the solution in the production environmentPartners with business partners and power users to develop and oversee UAT including test case development and test results evaluation; manages defect escalation and business impact analysisIdentifies measurement criteria and metrics where appropriate to ensure that the system/solution is performing adequately according to the prescribed specifications; collaborates with Managers to review anomalies and resolve root cause of issuesParticipates in planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, new systems design, detailed project workplan and effort development, and implementation timelinesCommunicates technical requirements in enough detail to IT stakeholders across domains, and conversely communicates technical solutions with BAs in non-technical terminologyUnderstands and follows corporate architectural guidelines, standards and policiesCollaborate with internal teams to define requirements and priorities.Partner with content managers to ensure timely and accurate updates.Technical SupportStays abreast with industry best practices and supports continuous improvement activities to increase the cost effectiveness and/or quality of delivery of related servicesProduces technical documents that describe the appropriate functions and features of services/solution Engages users to understand symptoms, and identifies potential root causes of user issues and dissatisfactionIntegrate intranet with enterprise systems (e.g., HR, CRM, document management).Develop and maintain automation scripts for efficient processes.Provide technical support for intranet users across the organization.Create user documentation and conduct training sessions.Gather feedback to enhance user experience and functionality.Manage user roles, permissions, and group structures to ensure secure and appropriate access.Leadership/Interpersonal SkillsFacilitates resolution of issues through creative solutioning, open exchange of information and viewpoints and influence; uses negotiation skills when appropriateListens carefully to understand various points of view and conveys understanding of the comments and questions of others Writes clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles while tailoring the messaging based on audienceBuilds trust and respect with key stakeholders and gains support for change Demonstrates proactive behaviors and self-management techniques, including but not limited to, working efficiently, demonstrating adaptability and setting goalsBrings appropriate individuals together to accomplish business objectives; facilitate access to critical competencies; knows who to call/involve Qualifications: Education and Work ExperienceBS in Computer science, engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience5+ years of experience in designing and deploying intranet-specific technical solutions in a large-scale complex environmentCertifications with major system vendors are desirable (e.g., Google, Microsoft)Advanced experience with intranet and document management platforms, including LumApps, AODocs, Sitecore, SharePoint, and GoogleExperience with application branding and visual design development, and widget and business application integrationsExperience working with systems center operations manager, app add-ins, search connectors, API connectors and Microsoft/Google add-onsExperience developing custom workflows and scripts to provide maximum automationExperience with software analysis tools for: activity diagrams, business use cases, business rules, and system level featuresExperience with various programming languages, including PowerShell, Python, HTML, CSS, BigQuery, etc is preferred Healthcare provider industry experience is preferred Complexity of WorkWithin scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment
