Two years of professional experience in writing, social media, public relations, or experience in a related field. Preferred bilingual in Spanish. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. Nature & Purpose of Position Create digital and print media to include social media, news releases, and web content for the College of Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Center. Primary Responsibilities Plans, writes, edits, and reviews content for publications, news releases, advertisements, marketing materials, web pages, videos and social media posts for the College of Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Center. Partners together on activities, programs, publications, awards and general matters of interest. Researches and conducts interviews to produce targeted news reports for both internal and external audiences as well as expanded features on research, teaching, operations, and student activities for various publication outlets. Communicates current events and services to students, alumni, employers, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders. Responds to inquiries or requests for information and serves as primary point of contact for college programs. Provides assistance with and interprets policies and procedures. May coordinate and supervise program activities. May process purchasing and be involved in budget decisions within the department. Provides supervision to student workers. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Works with requesters to develop content for external marketing/communications projects. Submits requests and works with IMC on external project completion. Creates social media posts (e.g., spotlight series, faculty/students news, etc.). Creates newsletters/videos for external audiences. Creates and sends marketing materials to prospective students (print and digital). Sends mass emails on behalf of the College. Develops and sends CJ weekly emails Other Specifications Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
