Occupational Category Technical/Para-Professional Department Financial Aid Division Division of Enrollment Success Open Date 12/06/2024 Open Until Filled Yes Educational and Experience Requirement Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Courses in Computer Science would be helpful. Two years related work experience or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Financial Aid Department. Primary Responsibilities Performs highly advanced specialist duties. Assists the System Analyst and Solution Support area in the analysis of office automation needs for the Financial Aid office. Conducts system investigations including troubleshooting, cleaning data and repairing database objects associated with Ellucian Banner, National Student Loan Data System, Common Origination & Disbursement, ELMSelect and other third-party software as necessary. Responds to information requests. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data. Develops, implements, and defines the processes necessary to refresh or otherwise maintain sets of data for testing and development purposes, converting data and systems, and automating processes when necessary. Conducts research for preparation and dissemination of information. Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence. Serves on committees as needed. Designs, implements and maintains Structured Query Language (SQL) queries and rules to automate Financial Aid programs. Researches, interprets, and communicates Federal and State regulations as needed for implementation and upgrading software and processes. Prepares weekly, monthly, and annual reports for administrative decisions and federal requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
