Specialist Sourcing
Overview The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, supporting, and executing strategic sourcing activities for a portion of ingredient spend at T. Marzetti. The categories can be complex and impactful from both a Supply Chain and overall company perspective. In this role, the Sourcing Specialist will work with cross-functional partners in identifying, qualifying and launching new products and alternate sources of supply to ensure supply. The individual in this position should have a procurement background, with some sourcing experience or an ability to learn quickly. The individual should be detail oriented and have a drive to support the team to reach cost savings targets and ensure supply on categories impacting T. Marzetti. Responsibilities Responsilities: This position will focus on reducing the overall cost of ingredients, while ensuring supply for production. This will be achieved by creating an optimal number of suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing, establishing corporate contracts, and driving compliance to these agreements Utilize the size and scale of T. Marzetti to strategically source critical categories and ensure competitive costs Work closely with project teams to ensure ingredient set up and ongoing supply for new product launches Create Purchase Orders and maintain accuracy of orders, invoices and good receipts. Lead the sourcing and negotiations for some ingredient categories, as well as day to day supplier and SKU management Lead the efforts of transforming critical or bottleneck categories increasing the effectiveness of our Manufacturing and driving cost savings Be a key contributor to negotiations with vendors, including analysis, strategy and long-term vision Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to lead contract negotiations with vendors; develop negotiation methods and acceptable terms and conditions through contract completion. Own detailed execution of the sourcing programs and process linking closely to Manufacturing, Marketing, Info. Tech., Human Resources and R&D Support the Sr. Director of Ingredients and Contract Manufacturing with cost savings opportunities, cash flow improvement, negotiations, vendor change management and alternate supplier initiatives This is both a strategic and a tactical position that requires forward vision and insight to be combined with data gathering and detailed step by step execution Qualifications Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Preferred 1-3 years of purchasing experience SAP experience preferred Strong written, verbal, and listening skills Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change High results-orientation
