Nature & Purpose of Position Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the Registrar’s Office, to support a streamlined student experience through onboarding and communications. Primary Responsibilities Leads and supervises student employees, including supervision and oversight of the front counter operations to ensure efficient operations and staffing. Recruits and supports onboarding and training of new student employees. Provides advanced phone, email, and/or in-person support for registration and specific duties related to student registration. Responds to complex registration and resource questions with full knowledge and extensive understanding of the student registration system to aid students in adding, dropping, resigning, and all steps associated with these processes. Responsible for leading system upgrade testing, resolution process troubleshooting, and initiating changes as guided by leadership. Substantial understanding of state reporting and enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse is required and knowledge of how it impacts the university and students. May be involved in report submissions. Supports leadership with start-of-term and end-of-term processing. Conducts research and prepares relevant information on registration processes to distribute internally and to campus partners. Coordinates, compiles, and evaluates data to ensure the efficiency of processes and services provided and implement changes as necessary based on findings. Responsible for creating, interpreting, and/or implementing internal policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure effective and efficient operation. Accountable for the execution and follow-through of complex and technical responsibilities. Oversees team assessment data, leading project timelines, and resolving process issues. Plans, directs, supervises, collaborates, and participates in special projects. Maintains a working knowledge of university, state, and federal policy that impacts the Registrar’s office and can share this information verbally and in writing. Ability to work with faculty and other campus constituencies to ensure appropriate compliance, including assessing possible violations and investigating claims, with the authority to report findings and, if necessary, implement changes in departmental processes/procedures. Maintains confidentiality and a thorough understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Complies with all state and federal mandates, as well as university policy. Strong team collaboration skills required. Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, summarize information gathered, and implement processes to enhance the Registrar’s Office and campus with collaborative team efforts. May support daily operations of the front counter and offer support and assistance to all staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
