Specialty Rehab Tech - Upper Extremity (Inpatient)

Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Specialty Rehab Tech to join the team. This position is available to a candidate who is looking for a rewarding and fast-paced position with the ability to gain experience in specific rehabilitation skills related to clients who have experienced neurological injuries resulting in an upper extremity impairment such as weakness after a brain or spinal cord injury. This is an excellent growth opportunity for candidates looking into occupational or physical therapy schooling.

 

Conduct effective and timely communication and/or teaching to internal and external stakeholders including clinical team members, patient support system, and equipment vendors. Communication will be via various methods including face-to-face, via phone, and e-mail. Direct patient-care experience including assisting the Upper Extremity Recovery Specialist during hands on treatment interventions focused on intensity and repetition with the impaired arm/arms. Desire to perform technical skills such as using technology during patient care to help patients address their arm impairments. Mine data from patient charts to track outcomes and progress as well as support supplemental programs. Desire a self-starter and problem-solver who is eager to improve processes as needed.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, with specific populations and/or as a CNA

 

Education/Certifications

High School diploma/GED required. High School or college degree with interest in further education related to healthcare. Healthcare professionals CPR certification required.
