Job Title: Laboratory AccessionerJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Accessioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for clinical specimen accessioning and data entry of patient information. This role involves preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, as well as sorting and retrieving specimens.
Responsibilities
+ Accession clinical specimens
+ Sort and retrieve specimens
+ Perform data entry of patient information
+ Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
+ Unpack and route specimens to staging areas
+ Identify and label specimens
+ Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities
+ Prepare and store excess specimen samples
Essential Skills
+ Highschool Diploma or GED
+ Ability to type 35 words per minute
+ Good data entry skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ No relative experience required; 1-2 years preferred
+ Previous medical or production experience is a plus
Work Environment
The Laboratory Accessioner will be working inside a lab environment with a team of 48 Accessioners/Processors. The lab processes a variety of samples such as blood, urine, feces, swabs, and other bodily fluids. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9 PM to 5:30 AM, with a 15% shift differential. The dress code includes solid-colored scrubs or jeans and a plain t-shirt, comfortable closed-toed shoes, and a mask. A lab coat will be provided. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as slight fluctuations in shift times may occur.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
