This full-time role offers a rotating schedule between 1st and 2nd shifts, Monday through Friday, with working every other Saturday and two holidays per year. In this position, you will work closely with and support the technical staff, providing you with a comprehensive and well-rounded experience in laboratory operations. Responsibilities:

Show initiative by offering assistance to team members, contributing to the efficient completion of departmental tasks, and enhancing team collaboration.

Oversee pneumatic tube and courier deliveries, ensuring specimens are processed timely to maintain workflow efficiency and meet deadlines.

Investigate and resolve specimen-related issues, including mistakes in requests or specimen problems, and escalate issues when necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Properly separate specimens by centrifugation, label aliquot tubes, and store samples at the correct temperature as per departmental guidelines to ensure sample integrity.

Determine and enter the specimen receive time into the laboratory information system (LIS), ensuring precise record-keeping for traceability.

Adhere to health and safety regulations, handling biohazardous materials and sharps safely to prevent exposure and maintain a safe work environment.

Verify patient specimens, ensuring they match requisitions, and participate in training new specimen processors, sharing knowledge of procedures and policies.
