Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, ensuring accurate processing and handling of samples. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare laboratory specimens for analysis.Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.Send test requests to the proper location and release test results.Assist clients with any specimen-related requests or inquiries.Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving.Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Essential SkillsSample preparation and handling.Accessioning and specimen processing.Data entry skills.Comfortability with handling biological specimens.Basic computer skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to accurately identify specimens.Ability to work independently or within a team environment.Well organized with a high level of attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.Work Environment
This is a lab-based environment where candidates will work mostly on their own in sectioned-off areas. The department consists of 80 total employees. There is no patient contact. The role involves helping process lab samples in a production-based environment. Contractors are not handling blood.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.25 - $18.00/hr.
