Job Title: Specimen Processor (Overnight shift)

Job Description

Specimen processors take incoming samples and input data into the computer system/create labeling for samples

Will be handling the enclosed samples with PPE but DO NOT directly touch open swabs or perform tests on samples

Receive, identify, label, and process specimens as required for processingMaintain departmental production goals to ensure hourly specimen flow to the labs are consistentReview, transcribe, and enter demographic and specimen data into the laboratory information system with 100% accuracyRecognize specimen problems and refer to designated personnelFile requisition slips, glass slides, and paraffin blocks assisting laboratory aide(s) as neededPerform supply maintenance and clean-up duties to help workflow and efficiency

Qualifications

Overnight experience High school diploma/GEDComfortable working with human samples Pass a typing test with proficiency and accuracy

Soft Skills

Ability to handle a fast-paced environment Multi-taskingStrong organizational skillsAbility to handle monotonous work

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 4-6 Month(s).

 

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.

 

Work Environment

90% - 100% of shift is spent typing and sitting at a computer Will be working in a large specimen processing room - logging patient information on sample tubes and assuring data is accurate
