Job Summary:

Evaluates and treats patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.PRN/As needed schedule

Job Duties:

Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.Supervises activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

Job Requirements:

Minimum EducationSpeech Therapist must hold the certification of clinical competence in Speech from the American Speech Language Hearing Associates; Master's of Science Degree required.Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employmentLicense: Current TN ST licensureMinimum Work ExperienceOne year clinical experience preferred (new graduates will be considered)
