Position Purpose
This position is accountable for providing quality Speech and Language Pathology services under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor, Manager and, ultimately, the Director of Rehabilitation Therapies. This individual provides comprehensive speech and language therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, in acute inpatient, post-acute Rehabilitation, Home Care, Skilled Nursing, and/or Hospice settings; including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to, comprehensive evaluation and treatment of cognitive, communication and swallowing limitations.
Nature and Scope
This position provides direct patient care, provides input to the interdisciplinary team regarding ongoing patient care, as well as comprehensive discharge planning. Therapist is expected to provide services interchangeably among like facilities. For example, acute care staff may float between inpatient hospital settings, while post-acute staff may provide services within various post-acute facility settings based upon census and business needs.
The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and families This position conducts evaluations, develops appropriate plan of care, and provides acute rehab services through time of discharge from the facility.
At times, this position may be asked to participate in program development and outcome measurements in the clinical setting.
This position does provide patient care.

Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Appropriate education to obtain and maintain Speech Language Pathology licensure. Recent graduates who have applied for the registration examination may be considered for provisional appointment.
Experience:
None required. Applicants with physical disabilities experience, specialty certification or experience in one or more specialty areas are preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Speech Language Pathology license.
Home Health- 205351 - Valid State of Nevada or California driver's license and ability to pass Renown Health's Department of Motor Vehicles Report criteria and current automobile insurance for department.
Certification(s):
BLS / CPR certification per AHA standards required.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
