Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-I) will provide speech and language services to a varied population of students in a full day non-public setting or public-private partnership setting. The SLP-I will implement and document the services as outlined in the IEP of each student, addressing the needs of students, their families, and any impact the student’s speech and language disability has on their ability to derive educational benefit. The role includes maintaining records to comply with specified standards and participating in intra- and interdisciplinary training and meetings.
ResponsibilitiesOffer functional communication, speech and language, and feeding/oral motor assessment to determine the presence of a disability in these areas and determine the current level of functioning.Develop and implement intervention programs focused on resolving identified conditions or diminishing their functional and/or educational impact.Deliver intervention services in settings and formats appropriate to the needs and placement of the student (e.g., pull out, classroom setting, co-teaching).Maintain documentation of all contacts with parents/guardians, agency representatives, administration, ACT Office, and colleagues regarding student progress and concerns.Develop, modify, and implement IEPs in cooperation with the ACT office and the LSS as prescribed at the Annual Team Meeting (ATM).Participate in intradisciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to student services (e.g., team meetings) and professional training (e.g., staff development activities).Support the school mission and goals in a positive and professional manner with a student-centered school culture and climate as designed by the administration.Essential SkillsPediatric experienceMust have successfully completed a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology with related clinical requirementsCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing AssociationEligibility for Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language PathologyExperience working with children who have communication disordersAdditional Skills & QualificationsProfessional development opportunitiesTuition reimbursementFree parkingChild care subsidiesStudent Debt Relief ProgramWork Environment
The position is based in a non-public school setting, working with children on the Autism spectrum of any age. The work location is 44219 Airport Road, Building 1, California, MD. School hours are from 7:30am to 3:30pm, five days a week, with part-time options available if needed. The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00
