The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician’s orders.

Minimum Requirements:

Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.  Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable  Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)  Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  Must be at least 18 years of age 

General Comments

SLP position in SWCCCASE’s Communication Development Program 

 

The CD Program supports students with communication disorders (the name gives it away). This commonly is learners with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Also, we support learners with language disorders plus other special needs (specific learning disability, emotional disability, OHI, ID, etc.) that results in needing more special education services. Attached is a flyer regarding our programming.

 

A CD SLP co-teaches (treats) with a special education teacher creating more supportive learning experiences (and greater differentiation). The classroom is our SLP‘s caseload. 

 

Location:  Tinley Park

Grade Level: 9th – 12th 

Setting: General education setting / Instructional level / Self-contained special education classroom

Staff Hours: 7:45 am – 3:10 pm / Full Time position

Caseload Size: 8-12 students
