We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. This position will provide clinical speech pathology services to both adult and pediatric caseloads across acute, skilled, outpatient, home health, and contract levels of care.

Essential Job Functions:Provide diagnostic assessments of communication disorders, including speech, language, fluency, voice, cognition/memory, and swallowing.Develop treatment plans and intervention strategies based on evaluation results.Provide therapy for the remediation of communication disorders and/or dysphagia.Educate patients and families about communication disorders and dysphagia.Plan and follow through with appropriate discharge planning for communication disorders and dysphagia.Complete operational duties such as patient scheduling, documentation, patient files, charges, and mileage records.Conduct continuing education and in-service activities for staff and community groups as requested.Foster positive and professional interactions with patients, families, visitors, staff, and medical personnel.Take personal responsibility for maintaining professional skills and knowledge.Adhere to MercyOne and departmental policies and procedures.Provide excellent customer service in a high-volume environment.Maintain strict confidentiality and handle patient information with care.Demonstrate professionalism and respect in communication with coworkers and the public.Maintain CPR certification.

Qualifications:Education: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution.Experience: No experience required if licensure qualifications are met.Licensure: State of Iowa Speech Pathology licensure required and must meet professional education standards.
